View of Robert F. Kennedy Campaign Near Bus Signs

22 Sep 1964 — Original caption: Goldwater supporters made use of a Bus Stop sign to advertise their candidate, but Robert F. Kennedy seemed unaware of the poster, as he carried his drive for the Senate into northern Manhattan. The former attorney General spoke to early morning commuters at Isham Street and Broadway in an effort to win votes from his opponent, Senator Keating. Kennedy drew an enthusiastic audience despite the presence of at least one Goldwater-Miller partisan. — Image by © Bettmann/CORBIS
